In family law cases the client is billed by the hour at $125/hour which is the customary billing rate in this area.
Clients are required to put down an initial retainer. The amount of the retainer will vary by the specific facts of your case including the relative complexity, the type of case and a number of other factors.
Our firm tries to minimize the impact on potential clients by not abusing the billing system by overcharging our clients for phone calls and emails.
All retainer money is put into a trust account and is only withdrawn once earned by the firm. If there is money remaining in the trust account after the case is closed, the client gets that amount refunded to them.
We maintain detailed billing records and billing usually goes out on the first of the month with payment due on the fifteenth of each month.
